Private Retreats

Spruce Point Inn started crafting oceanside memories made in Maine back in 1892 when the building that’s now the Main Inn was a private fishing camp. Over the decades, we have retained that authentic experience, designed to give great minds a break – and inspiration. In the 21st century, as in the 19th, Spruce Point Inn is a place for gathering colleagues together to enjoy the same unspoiled views, sea air and unhurried ease that’s hard to find.

The Privacy

Spruce Point Inn Resort is a place where you can work and relax secure in the knowledge that your needs – luxury guestrooms, ocean views and locally fished farmed and gathered foods will be met. Situated in a gated community that maintains a long-standing tradition of privacy and discretion, Spruce Point Inn carries a heritage of connected hospitality into the 21st century.

The Space

Today you’ll find echoes of our past in the Main Inn that’s filled with the character of the classic Maine shore resort — wood floors, bead-board wainscoting and porch ceilings painted a soothing sky blue with sun and sea air streaming through the windows. With its eight guestrooms and suites, the Inn’s two restaurants, a gameroom and the bright, breezy reception area, the Main Inn is a focal point where you’ll find generations of families gathering, as they have for over 100 years. In the lodges, townhomes and cottages nestled among the pines you’ll find the perfect arrangements for accommodating your group.

The Activities

When it comes to R&R Spruce Point Inn – a Conde Nast Traveler Top 25 Resorts of the Northeast — is the Maine ideal: plenty of amenities (and atmosphere!) that take advantage of our oceanside site – two outdoor pools, dock and moorings, tennis, bicycles and kayaks, nature trails following an old Native American path – plus the modern luxuries of a full-service spa, on-site yoga and fitness center, jogging trail, gameroom and WiFi connection throughout. Plus Spruce Point Inn is especially fond of children, with our Lighthouse Camp and Kids Night Out programs leaving the grownups with a little time to reconnect on their own or have a special dinner in Whiteclover or linger at The Salty Stag with your choice of libations in hand.

Take the Boothbay Harbor Trolley or hop in our shuttle to town for shopping and dining. Take a day-sail cruise right from our dock or a whale-watch trip. Climb Burnt Island Lighthouse. Try your hand at lobstering (there’s an oceanside memory you’ll want in the scrapbook!) or have our shuttle drop you at the world-class Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens with its renowned Children’s Garden or the Boothbay Scenic Railway and Auto Museum (that brings out the little kid in every guest).
